DAVID BONN
CO-FOUNDER AND CHIEF TECHNOLOGY OFFICER
David has been an independent wildfire and AI researcher since 2015. Prior to that, he worked with the US National Park Service as a backcountry ranger, fire lookout, and fire logistics specialist. David has also worked as an independent consultant for North Cascades National Park. In 1996, he was one of the founders of Watchguard Technologies, serving as both Chief Technology Officer and VP of Engineering. While at Watchguard, David led development on their original Firebox product—now an industry leader for internet security.
SAM LUCENTE
CO-FOUNDER AND CHIEF DESIGN OFFICER
As a designer and inventor, Sam Lucente has created products that have become part of the everyday lives of people around the world. His work has been recognized with major design awards and is in permanent collection at the New York MoMA, SFMOMA, the Smithsonian National Design Museum and other collections. As IBM’s head of Strategic Design, he led innovations such as the Leapfrog tablet computer and the 701C “Butterfly” laptop. At Netscape, he built the user experience team. Then as HP Global VP of Design, he drove the creation of the industry’s first touch-based printers. With an emphasis on social impact, Lucente brings world-class design approaches to help Deep Seek Labs address the challenges of wildfires.

John is an accomplished strategist, investor and c-suite operational executive with decades of experience building and growing pioneering companies, as well as investment funds in the sustainable economy/clean tech space. He specializes in business development, sales, capital formation and origination/deal flow and will be instrumental in Deep Seek Labs’ strategic growth and market expansion.
